About Derek
Derek became the newest instructor at the Center in August 2024 from ICWUC Local 561C. For the past 14 years, he has worked in plastics manufacturing. Ten of those years were spent extruding plastic at Celanese in Florence, KY. Then, he spent four years at INEOS in Addyston, OH, as a chemical Tanker tech, unloading hazardous chemical rail, barges, and semis. Before this, Derek spent many years servicing aircraft and directing in the ramp tower at Comair, CVG. He has always put safety at the forefront, keeping others around him safe in all these opportunities. This includes his family and three teenagers at home.
