Hazardous Materials Instructor Training under DOT
The purpose of this class is to introduce trainers to a range of modules that will be used in current and future DOT training. The Center developed DOT Training through a Department of Transportation grant for employees who are covered under CFR 49. This grant is administered by the ICWUC in cooperation with UAW, AFGE, AFSCME, and UFCW. The experience from workplaces is that DOT training will likely be scheduled in short modules at the beginning and end of a workday and during downtimes such as breaks and lunch. The aim is to introduce these DOT modules to our trainers. We cover modules that will be used for workers covered under CFR 49 - Placard and labels, chemical properties, resources, site security, toxic effects.
